Lynette's Story
You have the power to change your story, every day. This fundamental truth is at the core of who we are.
Our story begins intertwined with Lynette Beer's passion for empowering others to unlock their potential, discover their vocations, and nurture meaningful relationships – a journey fueled by the desire to make a lasting impact.
Merinda Lynette Beer grew up in the Eastern Cape, in Kariega when it was still known as Uitenhage, and later in Despatch. The Beer household was a busy one with three brothers and their sister and a hard working dad.
Mother Beer was the loving heart of the home and her skills in taking care of her family taught Lynette much about life and relationships. She is a source of inspiration for Lynette with many of her wise sayings forming the basis of sermons, chapters in books and blogs. She is also her daughter’s role model in how to love the Lord in all that you say and do.
Academic and sport achievements, as well as love, were abundant in Lynette’s childhood, but money was not. Still, after matriculating Lynette’s dream to study theology came true thanks to the generosity of people who made a lasting impact on her and are still mentioned in her writings and talks.
She worked in a congregation for four years, making a difference especially amongst the youth. She and her old, brown Volkswagen Passat are still remembered fondly, even though a couple of decades have passed. But the corporate world beckoned and Lynette achieved an other childhood dream of never having to struggle financially.
For many years, Lynette struggled to form truly meaningful personal connections and was unhappy with her life in general. On a professional level, she found it exceptionally challenging to collaborate with others in the workplace, which in turn led to stress and anxiety, as well as a sense of inadequacy and lack of fulfillment.
For Lynette, a watershed moment occurred when she realised that at the core of almost every single human issue, lies complicated relationships.
To be content personally and successful professionally, having a healthy relationship with yourself is paramount. Without that as foundation, deveoping symbiotic relationships with others is almost impossible. Understanding of self and others are essential tools for success.
With this realisation in mind, Lynette set out to demystify and simplify the dynamics of relationships. In the process, she discovered a proto-psychological theory formulated by ancient Greek philosophers that suggests that all people can be classified into four fundamental personality types.
She leveraged this theory to create a user-friendly model that seemlessly translates into everyday life and professional practices.
Award-Winning Results
Lynette implemented this Four Colour Temperament Model© at the company where she worked as marketing director at the time. The results were simply astounding. The company’s turnover tripled within three years from R25 million to R63 million to R74 million.
This earned Lynette an Award for the Most Innovative and Successful Business Concept in 2007. Soon after, she was also invited to present the concept in London, Dubai and Times Square, New York. Subsequently, the model became an internationally recognised human behavioural model, and Lynette was positioned as a global thought leader in the field of human behaviour.
Lynette was both humbled and overwhelmed by the tangible and life-changing impact of implementing her Four Colour Temperament Model© in her own life, as well as at work.
She asked herself a question that altered the course of her life irrevocably: “Imagine the wave of change we could set in motion, if we taught this concept to as many people and companies as possible.” She walked away from her two-decade plus cushy corporate existence to do just that, and, as they say: “The rest is history.”
The Dawn of
Seeds of Inspiration
